What Year 2 times tables covers

Year 2 is where the times tables begin. Children learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, the division facts that go with them, and how to spot odd and even numbers. These worksheets mix the tables you choose and vary the order of each fact — so a child practises genuine recall rather than counting in twos down a column. Every sheet is A4, print-ready, and comes with an answer key.

Answers included — a separate marking page with every sheet.

Questions parents ask

Which times tables does Year 2 cover?

Three: the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The national curriculum asks children to recall them and the matching division facts, and to recognise odd and even numbers along the way. Nothing else is introduced until Year 3, which adds the 3, 4 and 8 tables. This tool starts with all three Year 2 tables, and you can add any others.

My child counts up to get the answer — is that a problem?

Not at first, but it is what practice is meant to replace. Counting in twos to reach 8 × 2 works, and it is how the tables are taught. Recall is the goal, because a child still counting in Year 3 will be doing two jobs at once when column methods and the 3, 4 and 8 tables arrive. The sheets vary the order of each fact — you will see both 5 × 3 and 3 × 5 — so a child cannot chant their way down a column and has to genuinely retrieve the answer.

Are the answers included?

Yes. Keep 'Answers' ticked and a separate answer-key page is made with every sheet, so marking takes seconds. Every answer is computed exactly and checked.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Choose your tables, make a sheet, then print it or download the PDF. There is no login, ever.
