What Year 4 maths covers
Year 4 is the year the tables are finished. Children are expected to recall every multiplication and division fact up to 12 × 12 — the national multiplication tables check falls in June. Written methods extend to column addition and subtraction of four-digit numbers, and fractions move on to harder quantities like 5/6 of 60. The sheet above mixes all of these, shuffled rather than grouped, so a child has to work out which method each question needs instead of coasting down a column of the same operation. Every sheet is A4, print-ready, and comes with an answer key.
Answers included — a separate marking page with every sheet.
Year 4 topics
Drill one skill at a time:
Times tables →
Every table to 12 × 12, mixed and order-flipped — the tables check in practice form.
Fractions →
Add and subtract fractions with the same denominator, including tenths and hundredths.
Fractions of amounts →
Harder fractions of larger quantities, like 5/6 of 60.
Equivalent fractions →
Families of equivalent fractions, like 5/6 = ?/18.
Questions parents ask
What maths does a child learn in Year 4?
Year 4 is the year the times tables are finished. Children are expected to recall every multiplication and division fact up to 12 × 12 — this is the year of the national multiplication tables check, taken in June. Alongside that, written methods extend to four-digit column addition and subtraction, and fraction work moves on to harder quantities, hundredths, and families of equivalent fractions.
What is on the mixed sheet?
One sheet drawn from across the Year 4 number curriculum: multiplication and division facts from any table to 12 × 12, four-digit column addition and subtraction, and fractions of amounts. They are shuffled rather than grouped by type, so a child has to recognise which method each question needs — which is the skill an arithmetic paper actually tests. To drill a single skill instead, use the topic sheets below.
Are the answers included?
Yes. Keep 'Answers' ticked and a separate answer-key page is made with every sheet, so marking takes seconds. Every answer is computed exactly and checked.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Set the sheet up, make it, then print it or download the PDF. There is no login, ever.
